Castor Oil

Just wanted to tell you a little about my favorite carrier oil. Castor oil is made by pressing the

seeds from the castor plant.

Castor oil is known as a humectant--it can draw water molecules from the air

to help keep your skin from drying out. It has triglycerides which help to trap water in the skin. This

helps so that your skin stays smooth and keeps it from drying and cracking.

It also has high levels of vitamin E. Vitamin E is an antioxidant, which means it helps to stabilize

damaged cells. It has anti-inflammatory properties. With its high levels of the fatty acid called omega-9 or

ricinoleic acid, it can help reduce red puffiness, swelling, and pain. Because of this caster oil can be

used to treat some arthritic pain. It also can help with sunburns. The ricinoleic acid will protect blisters

from becoming infected.

A word of caution to those who are pregnant. Do not take it by mouth because it can irritate the

uterus and induce labor. Also, large amounts taken orally by anybody can be toxic.

Reliving Pain With A Castor Oil Pack

Here is another healing miracle. A caster oil pack applied to a painful area can often help a lot.

A caster oil pack is simple to make.

Take a piece of cloth that is absorbent but not too thick. I use an old cotton pillowcase or a piece of flannel.

Soak the cloth with caster oil (you only want the cloth to have as much caster oil as it can absorb. It shouldn't be dripping off).

Place the cloth over the painful area and cover it with plastic wrap or a bag.

Then put a thin towel over that.

Then place a heating pad on low to medium heat for up to 2 hours (if medium is too hot then keep it on low).

Remove the heat.

You can take off the caster oil pack or keep it on without the heat. The oil will penetrate and help to initiate healing.

Something so simple can be so powerful to heal.

Personal Experience With Castor Oil

I just wanted to share a personal experience on

the caster oil pack.

One day I ate a delicious dish but didn't realize that there was something in it that

would cause me difficulties. Within three hours, I was in terrible pain and could barely move. It felt like

someone had taken a baseball bat to my back. I wasn't able to even stand up straight due to the severe

pain.

I made a caster oil pack and put a few drops of lemon essential oil on the pack (the essential oil isn't

necessary the pack works without it). I placed it on my lower back with a heating pad. Within less than 5

minutes, I began to have relief. I kept it on for 30-45 minutes. I still had a little pain but was able to walk around normally.

What a blessing. Again something so simple. Give it a try to see if you also have a miracle story to share with someone. God Bless you and this treatment.
